Any parent knows that if you're lucky, you're able to dash after your kids before they get too far. If you have two you have to dash after one pre-schooler, only to find that your toddler is heading in the opposite direction. God's speed if you have three.
Since the best camera is useless if all you've got is the back of a kid, today, I highlight my Allen-Edmonds footwear. I used to spend $30 for a pair of shoes, but bought a pair of Eccos in Thailand back in 1998. They lasted over three years which meant they were actually a better value in the long run and were far more comfortable. So ironically, I now spend more on a pair of shoes than my wife (although I pretty much wear the same pair all the time). Anyway, I got a pair of Allen-Edmonds around 40% off and love that they are ultra comfortable, reasonably stylish (I use them for weddings as well) and made in America. They're so well made that you can send them back to have them resoled since the uppers tend last as long as you want to keep them. If only I could send myself in to be made like new after a long day chasing kids around.

Aidan was kind enough to model the shoes for me. Pretty impressive soles wouldn't you say. He also has grown quite attached to his new puppy and was caught in the act of making faces with it.
Technical Note: ISO 400, f5, 1/200. These are the camera settings that allow me to recycle my flash quickly while not exceeding the sync speed of my camera. The strobe is to the far (camera) left with a shoot through umbrella to soften the light. The white wall on the right bounced the light back to minimize the contrast of the photo.
